The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC), the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), and local project partners, like the Albany Pine Bush Preserve, have come together again to offer free Saturday CDTA bus service to connect City of Albany residents to eight natural spaces in and around Albany. The service will start Saturday, May 28 and run through Saturday, September 24.
Albany Pine Bush Preserve Meet and Greet
The Nature Bus will be visiting the Albany Pine Bush Preserve at 6 Mile Waterworks at 135 Fuller Road twice a month for the entire summer.
After stepping off the bus, visitors will be met by Albany Pine Bush Preserve staff and dedicated volunteers ready to answer questions about the globally rare, nationally significant and locally distinct ecosystem that they will encounter. Staff and volunteers will be present at 6 Mile Waterworks to provide visitors with everything from trail maps and tick removal guides, to stickers and coloring sheets for kids.

Trailhead #3 Six Mile Waterworks
Directions from Discovery Center to Rensselaer Lake (Six-Mile Waterworks) on Fuller Road (Trailhead 3). At traffic light in front of Discovery Center building, turn left onto Route 155. Proceed 0.5 miles to the next traffic light. Turn left onto Washington Avenue Extension. Proceed on Washington Ave. Extension for 2.3 miles to the Fuller Road exit. Take the ramp. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Fuller Road. Travel approximately 0.1 miles to a second traffic circle. Rensselaer Lake Preserve and Park Entrance (Six-Mile Park) is the 3rd exit off the traffic circle.
