Community Engagement

Community Resource

We make life better!

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is a Community Resource. As such, we strive to build meaningful and engaging relationships with our neighbors, and beyond, to explore this rare, significant and unique place.

Our focus...

is to contribute to the quality of life in the Capital Region. We do this by offering intriguing public educational programming, conducting and participating in scientific research and conservation efforts, maintaining the Pine Bush ecosystem through stewardship, and various volunteer opportunities for both individuals and corporate groups.

The community is also welcome to recreate on our 20 miles of trails across our 3,350 acre preserve (spanning throughout the municipalities of Guilderland, Albany and Colonie). This includes hiking, biking, snowshoeing, dog walking, photography, or just getting outside to experience the splendor of nature.

These efforts combined create an incubator for economic development in the Capital Region, as we offer neighbors and tourists alike to invest in our community. We also offer rental space for various community and business events in our dynamic Discovery Center. At the Discovery Center you can also purchase from our gift shop that offers locally-sourced items and great gift ideas.

It's Free!

There is no admission fee for the Discovery Center and Albany Pine Bush Preserve. There are occasionally fees for public programs. Click here for more info.
