DEFIL WRASORP

Answer: FIELD SPARROW

The Field Sparrow is a bird that returns to the Pine Bush Preserve in spring. Look for a white eye-ring, pink bill and rufous crown to help distinguish it from other sparrows. Their habitat is tall grass and shrubs, which are plentiful in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. The song of the field sparrow is similar to someone dropping a ping-pong ball on a table and letting it bounce. Does it sound like that to you?
