ALBANY NY - On December 1, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center will host the unveiling of their annual juried photo exhibit, celebrating the uniqueness and diversity of the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.

Jackie Citriniti, Lead Educator and show designer said, “The photo exhibit is an amazing display of local talent. Out of hundreds of submissions, it is a daunting task to choose the finalists.” Citriniti continued, “Each photograph reveals incredible features of this rare ecosystem, from macro to micro, from flora and fauna to landscapes, from color to black and white. This is a great opportunity to not only view breathtaking art up close and personal, but experience this globally rare, nationally significant and locally distinct preserve.”

The exhibit will be open to the public both inside and outside the Discovery Center through the end of February 2024.  The opening night and exhibit are sponsored by Friends of the Pine Bush Community. Friends’ president Don Allard said, “After several years of exhibiting photographs submitted by community members, one might think the perspectives show would get repetitive. But instead each year brings out new talent and creative imagery to be shared with the public. I am especially pleased to see many outstanding photos submitted by very young photographers.” Juror selected awards will be announced during the opening.

All ages are welcome. This free special event will be held rain or shine at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center at 195 New Karner Road, Albany. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Call 518-456-0655 for more details or visit www.AlbanyPineBush.org/events.
