Suitable for teens accompanied by an adult.
This program is an opportunity for teens to learn to nature journal in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. Nature journaling is the art of recording observations and reflections on the natural world through illustration, poetry, and in other creative ways. All teen participants are invited to submit their journal pages for possible inclusion in our trailside StoryWalkTM. The selected journal pages will be put on display along the trail from the Discovery Center to the top of the overlook dune. All teens must be accompanied by an adult for this program. We encourage accompanying adults to participate in the journaling program, but we hope to select journal pages for the StoryWalkTM from the teens’ submissions exclusively. All supplies will be included, but participants are welcome to bring their own supplies if they wish. This program will begin with a short indoor presentation before we head out onto the hiking trail to work on our journals. Wear appropriate clothing for being in the sun or shade and in areas where there may be ticks.
