This program is suitable for ages 6+
An extraordinary journey into a globally rare, nationally significant and locally distinct inland pine barrens. Our experts will guide you along this 1.25 mile hike through the Schenectady Pine Barrens Preserve where you will discover pine barrens natural history, seasonal surprises and new transformations. This program will meet at the Gifford Road entrance of the Schenectady Pine Barrens Preserve.

Woodlawn Preserve - Gifford Rd Trailhead
Directions to Woodlawn Preserve from the Discovery Center:
Go straight through the traffic light in front of the Discovery Center onto Old State Road. At the stop sign turn right onto Kings Road. Drive on Kings Road for 4.3 miles. Turn right onto McDonald Avenue and then right onto Gifford Road.
