SPECIAL EXHIBIT: The Nature of Texture

Join us for our new exhibit in the Karner Classroom called The Nature of Texture.  Texture, as experienced through multiple senses, helps us appreciate the rare beauty of the Pine Bush.  Visitors are challenged to use their nose, eyes, ears and fingers to explore Pine Bush Textures and to take their learning outside into the preserve through take home activities.

Some exhibit pieces are purely to be enjoyed as moments of discovery, while others take visitors deeper into a nuanced understanding.  Where we note “under 13 may need guidance” an advanced learner should guide early learners through more complex and multi-step experiences.

Availability

The exhibit is open for limited viewing during our normal operating hours.  On occassion the exhibit may be occupied and unavailable for public viewing.  While there is a lot of other things to explore, if you are expecting to view the exhibit it is best you call ahead to ensure it will be open during your specific visit.   518-456-0655

Suggested Age

While younger learners can enjoy the moments of discovery along side an attentive adult guide, this exhibit is best suited for learners over 13 years.
