This program is suitable for ages 6+.

Join us on a 0.9 mile hike to look for wild blue lupine, a stunning native perennial wildflower that grows in the Albany Pine Bush. Also known as “sun dial lupine” wild blue lupine is critical to the survival of two rare butterflies here. Come learn more about wild blue lupine and the important role it plays in our inland pine barrens ecosystem while experiencing the beauty of the pine barrens in spring.We will meet inside the Discovery Center.

From I-87 take exit 2W (Rt 5 West, Central Avenue). Follow Rt 5 for about 2 miles then turn left onto Rt 155 (New Karner Rd). Continue on Rt 155 for about 1.2 miles. The Discovery Center is located on the left at 195 New Karner Road. (518)456-0655
