Suitable for all ages

Come celebrate World Ranger Day with us and learn about the important role NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Forest Rangers play here in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve and across New York State. World Ranger Day is a day to celebrate and recognize our State Forest Rangers who protect NYS lands and the people who use these lands. We will meet NYS DEC Forest Ranger Anastasia Allwine in the Discovery Center parking lot to view equipment used in her daily work, followed by a 1-mile hike over rolling sand dunes to learn more about the duties and responsibilities of NYS Forest Rangers. Don’t miss this chance to learn more about the amazing work of our NYS Forest Rangers and share gratitude for the vital role they play in protecting New York’s wild lands. This program will meet in the bus pull-off in front of the Discovery Center.
