Are you interested in getting more involved in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve community? Do you have a passion for interpretation or teaching? Consider volunteering with us as a docent!
We are looking to grow our volunteer team of docents at the Discovery Center. As the first person a visitor meets at the Discovery Center, docents provide frontline interpretation of our exhibits, trail system, programs, and provide information about the preserve. The Albany Pine Bush Preserve’s Discovery Center acts as a gateway to the preserve – becoming a familiar face at the welcome desk is a fun and rewarding way to volunteer with us!
This opportunity is available to adults 18 and older, who can commit to volunteering for a minimum of 4 hours per month. Volunteers must successfully complete the Volunteer Docent training program and commit to 4 hours a month minimum.
The first training session will be held on Sunday, September 14th from 1:00 to 3:30pm. The second training will be scheduled by appointment. Additional interpretive opportunities will be offered to volunteers who have been in the program for 6 months or more.
