SUMMARY:Barrens Birding Blitz
DESCRIPTION:\n	THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!\n\n	Email Alex Soldo asoldo@albanypinebush.org to be added to a waitlist.\n\n	This team birding competition will take place from 6am-12pm\, culminating in an awards ceremony and light refreshments in the Discovery Center at 12:30pm.\n	\n	The Birding Barrens Blitz will keep in guidance with the American Birding Association Code of Ethics. Birdwatchers of all skill levels are invited to participate from novice to expert.\n	\n	Both traversing and sit & spot teams will cover different regions of the Albany Pine Bush Preserve\, each contributing to full coverage of the preserve\, hiking trails in all regions. The teams' eyes and ears will provide a snapshot of the birds in the preserve\, and teams will compete to spot and identify as many species as possible in the time allotted.\n	\n	The Albany Pine Bush Preserve has approximately 200 bird species who call the pine barrens home. The preserve is a New York State Bird Conservation Area\, a National Audubon Society Important Bird Area & part of the New York State Birding Trail.\n	\n	\n	Highlights\n\n	\n		Join with fellow birders to discover some of the approximately 200 avian species that can be found within the preserve.\n	\n		Interact with knowledgeable preserve staff and community partners and learn more about the Albany Pine Bush Preserve's unique ecosystem and species.\n	\n		Chance to win awards & prizes.\n	\n		Lunch with birding friends old and new.\n\n\n	\n	$25 Registration fee includes\n\n	\n		Barrens Birding Blitz T-Shirt. Due to production time\, if you register after September 12 you may receive a different Pine Bush T-shirt.\n	\n		Event guidelines & birding guide (score sheet)\,\n	\n		Lunch and birding awards\n\n\n	\n	How Registration Works\n	Register and pay the $25 registration fee to reserve your spot for this exciting birding event.
