All children and parents are invited to grab a provided reused material and some sticks and jam-out with The Junkman, world renown percussionist Donald Knaack.
Here’s a chance to add some unique and fun-tastic spice to your holiday activities. The Junkman will offer two interactive workshops in which music and music-making simultaneously integrate with messages about environmental stewardship and the Pine Bush Preserve - all to help us become better environmental citizens.
The Junkman has presented his HOP (Help Our Planet) Environmental Education Initiative world-wide. His HOP Initiative has garnered awards of excellence from the United Nations, The Federal Republic of Mexico, and the Governor of Vermont. He’s performed at the United Nations, The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the COP Conference on Climate Change, toured with Phish, Eminem, and the Black-Eyed Peas, and his music has been the soundtrack for television commercials for Nike, the NBA, ESPN, AirBnb, PowerDot, Electronic Arts and more.

Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center
From I-87 take exit 2W (Rt 5 West, Central Avenue). Follow Rt 5 for about 2 miles then turn left onto Rt 155 (New Karner Rd). Continue on Rt 155 for about 1.2 miles. The Discovery Center is located on the left at 195 New Karner Road. (518)456-0655
